C1x Privacy Policy

C1x is designed with privacy as a foundation. The app uses fully anonymous accounts — we never collect your name, email address, or any personally identifying information unless you explicitly choose to provide it. This policy describes exactly what we collect, why, and how it is used.

Accounts and Identity

C1x accounts are fully anonymous. When you create an account, a random identifier is generated by Firebase Authentication. You may choose a username, but this is never linked to your real name, email address, or any external identity. We have no way of knowing who you are in the real world from your account alone.

What We Collect

Anonymous usage data

C1x uses Google Firebase to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. This includes metrics such as round statistics, hole-by-hole performance data, and general usage patterns (e.g. which features are used most). This data is used to improve the app over time. It is not linked to your identity, device, or location.

Social feature data

If you choose to participate in C1x Seasons — our optional social competition feature — the following data is collected and stored:

  • Username and profile — your chosen username, avatar, and profile customization selections
  • Round performance data — scores, shot-by-shot statistics, fantasy points, and grades submitted to seasons
  • Season history — standings, rankings, weekly performance, and awards earned
  • C1x Rating — a computed skill rating derived from your round performance, stored on your account and visible to other season members
  • Challenge and unlock progress — completed challenges, unlocked avatars, and unlocked titles

This data is visible to other members of any season you join. It is linked to your anonymous account identifier (your User ID) but not to any real-world identity.

This data is collected only if you choose to use the social feature. If you never join or create a season, none of this data is collected.

Completed season data

When a season ends, your personal stats, rank, and awards are preserved on your account as career history. Season data is retained for 30 days after completion and then permanently deleted from our servers.

Newsletter email (optional)

If you choose to submit your email address to join the C1x newsletter through the in-app opt-in, your email address is collected and stored. This is entirely optional and only occurs if you actively submit the form. Your email is used solely for newsletter communication and is linked to your account for the purpose of managing your subscription. It is never shared with third parties or used for any other purpose. You may request removal from the newsletter at any time by contacting us at the address below.

What We Do Not Collect

C1x does not collect or store any of the following:

  • Your real name, physical address, or phone number
  • Location data or GPS coordinates
  • Device identifiers (e.g. IDFA, Android ID, or IP address)
  • Phone hardware or software details
  • Payment or financial information
  • Any data that could be used to identify you in the real world, unless you voluntarily provide your email for the newsletter

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

We may share anonymous, aggregated analytics (containing no personal or identifying information) with trusted partners for business or product improvement purposes. This data cannot be used to identify or contact any individual.

Round and season data is shared with other members of seasons you join. This is the core function of the social feature and is limited to users you are actively competing with.

Firebase (Google) processes data on our behalf as our backend infrastructure provider. Their privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com.

User Rights

Because C1x accounts are fully anonymous, there is no personal information to access or correct in most cases.

If you submitted your email for the newsletter and wish to have it removed, contact us at the address below and we will delete it promptly.

If you wish to delete your account and associated data entirely, contact us at the address below. We will remove your account, username, round history, and all associated social feature data from our servers.

Children

C1x does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the newsletter opt-in, please contact us and we will remove it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated in the future to reflect changes in the app or compliance requirements. When that happens, the updated policy will be published here and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
